What is the Jersey City Fraternal Order of Police Association membership?
The Fraternal Order of Police Association membership is a civilian affiliate of the Fraternal Order of Police. The Fraternal Order of Police consists of active duty law enforcement officers employed with Federal, State, County, and Municipal levels. It is part of a National organization with National, State, and local Lodges.
Who are the Associate members of the Fraternal Order of Police?
Our Associate members are friends and families of law enforcement Officers, responsible and respected business persons, professional men and women, and citizens from all walks of life. Members willing to devote a portion of their time and efforts toward assisting the various law enforcement agencies of our community and state.
What are the objects and purpose of the Association membership?
To establish better understanding between the public and law enforcement agencies of our community and state through public relations, legislative and educational efforts. Furthermore, to eradicate the public apathy prevalent throughout our country, and to assist our police at all levels in every way possible. F.O.P. Associate membership is by invitation only and application for membership are subject to investigation, and approval of the local lodge.
Why should I become an Associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police?
If you believe in: A better community, state, country. Vibrant, active and good law enforcement by capable and proficiently trained law enforcement officers. Better protection for your family, home and business... Then you should become a member. The initiation fee and yearly dues are moderate and tax deductible. In some instances, corporations, companies, and business's pay the initiation fees and dues for their employees. However, the majority of Associate members pay individually.
How can I become an Associate member of the Fraternal Order of Police?
By requesting an Associate membership applications form from your local F.O.P. Lodge, community Law Enforcement Officer, or download a form from this site. Complete the necessary information on the application and return it, with your initiation fee, enclosing check or money order.
What are the yearly dues, and what will I receive in return?
The yearly dues for the F.O.P., Jersey City Lodge #4 are $35.00. For this you will receive an active Associate membership card for the current year, current year auto decal, and a Jersey City - F.O.P. support window sticker.
What will happen if I fail to pay my dues?
Your Associate membership will be cancelled and you will be required by New Jersey State law to return the F.O.P. Associate shield and membership card.
