To Lodge 4 Members:

Edward R. Brannigan, President NJFOP, sent this latest information concerning
Senate Bill S-2220:

line

Because of the tremendous response from FOP members, Senate Bill S-2220 received extensive revisions by its sponsor, Senator Paul Sarlo. Provisions that protect current employees and established collective bargaining practices were added to the bill. The bill passed out of committee with amendments that maintain the payout of sick time at separation at its current levels. It also made "prospective" for future employees the provision that penalizes use of sick time in the last 12 months. The FOP contended that the provision was unworkable, a point taken by the committee chair.

The action by our members made it possible for the New Jersey State Lodge Lobbyist, Peter Guzzo, and State Lodge Legislative Committee Chairman, Steven Demofonte, to meet privately with Senator Sarlo and Senator Cunningham to discuss the FOP members concerns. The views of the members of the Fraternal Order of Police were clearly heard and will continue to echo in the halls of the State House.

Fraternally,

Edward R. Brannigan
President
New Jersey Fraternal Order of Police

Fraternally,

W. Greg Kierce,
President
